Over the last month I have been a lady of culture visiting art galleries and museums. The first week I visited the National art gallery and the National portrait gallery.  I really enjoyed  viewing all the exhibits their were some  quite wonderful paintings.  My favorite were of the paintings by Canaletto,

of Venice absolutely amazing. Well me and my friend Ann felt like part  of  the exhibits too, by the number of looks we were getting. Mainly from  young teenage girls  and a few of the older generation. Not that it bothered us in the slightest, can be quite amusing watching peoples reactions. After we had lunch we visited the Portrait gallery, I must admit I found this more  of interest. They had a small exhibition of Marilyn Monroe publicity photos and memorabilia. She is my all time favorite woman what an icon she was and still is. I think I liked the Portrait museum best because it was of famous and not so famous people throughout History which I found very interesting. There was only one painting that I found that  was  a combination of sadness and anger. It was a photo of a group of world war Generals gathered together after the war. They had been responsible for the needless deaths of hundreds of thousands of men sent across  enemy lines. Through poor planning and very poor judgement.  To see these Generals made out to be heroes, who were probably hundreds of miles away from the front and never saw any action. Well  it just made me cross that they got to go home, but all those brave men young and old would never return to there loved ones.

The following week we went to the Victoria & Albert museum, oh my you need at least a week to see everything. Well we wanted to check out the fashion exhibits and jewelry while we were there. Some of the jewelry  was quite exquisite  and well worth a visit just to view  them just on there own. Now that we have a guide of the museum we will plan are next visit better.

Then this week we visited the British museum all I can say is it was like one giant Aladdin's cave. Again you would need at least a week to view everything.

My absolute favorite section was the Egyptian artifacts and also the ancient Greeks . I would highly recommend visiting all of these Museums and Art galleries if you ever get a chance to come to London.
